Absolutely NUTS for this build, highly recommend. I think the original PLL pedal is wild enough for anyone but this goes even further. They've added aaaaaall the weird extras and add-ons that Mr Schumann created later and put them on the one PCB so they can live in the same enclosure. CV-Out too, bonkers.

Makes wiring up a footswitch fast and easy!

Really nice pedal, good construction, works as expected. Only one thing…no little slip of paper explaining the nuances of this rev of clone…figured it out by process of elimination on the acclam site. Mostly the operation of the boost (Mach Schau) knob vs the level knob…no biggie. Gave me a reason to play more with it on first opening :-)

Bought this preamp on Reverb in June 2025. Postage with AusPost was as fast as expected. Installed preamp into my Aria Pro II bass with MM style pickup that had been gutted of it's original preamp by a previous owner. Installation was easy, despite being limited on space. When I first plugged in, there was no signal and a loud hum. I double checked everything and connections were correct. I reached out to Jason and this is where his exceptional customer service comes in. He identified the problem was that he sent me the wrong jack for this particular preamp. He then sent me the correct jack (with extra wire length) for free! Unfortunately due to my circumstances... the project sat untouched for a couple of months and I missed the opportunity to leave glowing feedback on Reverb thanking Jason for his customer service, but for his high quality product that brought my bass back to life. I could not recommend Thereallygoodpedalco high enough! I will definitely be purchasing other preamps/products in the future when other projects come up.

This is an amazing pedal. Combination fuzz and envelope filter, each side is great individually but the responsiveness of the filter with the link switch engaged is off the charts. The original Chunk Systems pedals could only be connected with a jumper cable, and they’re long out of production so very pricey if you can even find one. Custom order is the way to go, dozens of options and the builder worked with me and kept me informed throughout the process. Highly recommended!

I've not had the pleasure of playing through any Chunk Systems gear, but based on my internet research, and some samples posted on Talkbass, the Funky Puppy seems to nail it.
I have never experienced a filter like this one. The response, range, and tone are pretty unusual in my experience. I'm smitten. It's possible to find settings that cause the filter to open and close in a very non- linear fashion. Squelch yields a similar result to Resonance on other devices, but also has a notably different character than resonance. There is much more deep diving to be done. The Fuzz is a solid offering that pairs extremely well with the filter, and the envelope link plays a huge role. What a cool, fun, musical device, and the Hammered White finish is a nice bonus.

what a SUPERBE circuit, and the link switch is a stroke of genius. I'm getting the sounds out of it, that I want. Much better than the 3Leaf Trifecta (which I do love, but don't give me the combined synth sound, that I want).
And WAY better than the overhyped MXR bass synth, analog tracking.... Well, there is no tracking! It just does, what I play. Perfect!

As I have the soldering skills of an angry donkey in the dark, this seemed the best way for me to give my Sterling Stingray 5 a much needed upgrade, when it arrived it was obvious the person who makes these takes it seriously, extremely well made. But what really blew me away was how much the sound was transformed, the original Sterling Stingray preamp is as inspiring as a burned spud, so I was expecting an improvement, but not to this extent. I’m honestly shocked how good this sounds, really thick low end, great mid and high, rolling off the top and mid gives a beautiful warm rounded tone. I was lucky many years ago in having an Ernie Ball Stingray 5 for a time, and I really feel like this preamp gets me very close to that great sound again. I opted to add in the micro-toggle to give me access to switching the poles and I’m glad I did, even more tone options! I’ve bought the pcb version too for future projects, let’s see if I can de-donkey my soldering.
