DIY Pedal Build Service

Handmade, tested, and ready to play.

We offer over 150 different models of PCBs for DIY pedal building. There are clones and modified versions of popular circuits along with circuits from rare, discontinued pedals and some that are exclusive to the DIY world and aren't available on the commercial market.

If you want to get your hands on one of these pedals but don't want to build it yourself you're in the right place.

Here's the process:

1) Pick your PCB and order.

Browse our DIY section and pick out the model you're after. Select "Completed Pedal" to see the price for the finished version of the PCB.

2) Order Confirmation

We'll be in touch within 24 hours to confirm the details of the build. If there are any mods or options for the PCB you've chosen we'll run through these with you along with any custom options you'd like to request.

3) ETA

After we've confirmed the details we'll give you an eta. If everything we need for your build is in stock we should have your order completed within a week unless we're absolutely swamped with orders. If we need to order parts then roughly 2 weeks if we can source locally, up to 4 and sometimes more if it's an international order.

4) Building & Testing

Your order is built by hand in our workshop. After completion every unit goes through a thorough and comprehensive bench and play test.

5) Photos and shipping

Once your build is completed we'll send over some pictures and make sure you're happy with any custom options.. Then it will be carefully packed for shipping and your order will be updated with a tracking number.

FAQ

What's my pedal going to look like?
By default each build is housed in a matte black powder coated enclosure with a 3D printed faceplate for control labelling and branding. We're currently designing these as people order each model. We'll upload photos to each listing as new orders are completed. Check out our socials for more photo examples in the meantime.

You can also chose to have your build completed in a bare metal enclosure if you'd like to do your own artwork on the enclosure. Let us know if you'd prefer this option in your order notes.

What can I customize? Cost?
Enclosure colour. Knob colour and size. Status LED colour. We can also customize our 3D printed faceplates with basic images and different text. Currently we only offer the black and white colour option for 3D printed faceplates.

There is no extra charge for different enclosure colours and most knob options.  Custom 3D faceplates are $20.

You can see photos of our enclosure color options HERE.

Can you mod the pedal for me?
A lot of these projects include optional mods in the build documents. As part of the order confirmation process we'll let you know if there are any options for your build. If you'd like a mod that's not in the documentation get in contact with the details and we'll work it out.

We generally don't charge for basic mods like alternate component values unless they're things we don't stock like expensive ICs.

Do you make 2 in 1 pedals?
By request yes, get in contact for a quote.

Can you build  me a PCB or kit from other brands?
For sure! Message us with the details for a quote.

What parts and hardware do you use?
We use high quality components and hardware for each build, similar to what you'd receive in a decent kit, I don't use anything in these builds I wouldn't use myself. Brands include: WIMA, Kemet, JB, Alpha, Panasonic and others.

Can you build something that’s not listed yet?
Possibly. If you don't see the "Completed Pedal" option on a PCB listing it can be due to a few reasons, usually parts availability. We can usually source most stuff but prices can fluctuate quite a bit so these are quoted case by case.

Do your pedals have a 9v battery clip?
No, most of these projects don't have room for one in the enclosure either but if it's something you really need send us an email and we'll see if it's possible.

What power supply do I need?
All of our projects use a standard 9v 2.1mm negative tip pedal power supply. Some models are able to be powered above 9v, we'll let you know if this is possible when we confirm your build. Feel free to message us before ordering too.

What’s the warranty?
All of our completed pedal builds come with a 12 month warranty. Postage is covered in this period. After 12 months we generally don't charge labor for repairs unless the pedal has been obviously mistreated or altered.

Do you do returns if I don't like the pedal?
Because each unit is built to order we do not offer change of mind returns.

Can I pay via Afterpay?
In Australia; yes, by request. Contact us via the contact form with what you'd like to order along with your shipping address and we'll reply with an online invoice you can pay via Afterpay.
